Listening: This section features four audio recordings with a total of 40 questions. You’ll have 40 minutes to listen and answer, with an additional 10 minutes to transfer answers to the main sheet.
Reading: Both Academic and General Training modules offer three reading passages with 40 questions. Candidates are given 60 minutes to complete this section.
Writing:
Speaking: This 11-14 minute face-to-face interview with an examiner is often conducted on a separate day.
Scoring
The IELTS score ranges from 0 to 9 bands, with each section receiving a band score. University requirements vary, but typically a minimum score of 6.0 bands is needed for undergraduate studies and 6.5 bands for postgraduate programs. Results are available within 15 working days.
